I received my degree from Western Michigan University in 1978. I worked for one year as a manager at H & R Block Tax Preparation. In 1981, I was hired by American General, and spent twenty years setting up tax-sheltered annuities for clients with VALIC, where I became a Unit Manager and was responsible for training and mentoring new representatives to the company. In 1990, I completed my Certified Financial Planner licensing.
My focus has always been providing a secure and individually designed and diversified retirement plan for those employed in our southeast Michigan school districts. I evaluate each person’s risk tolerance, and retirement goals based on length of service, sources of income, and ability to save.
I began Educator’s Financial Services in the spring of 2001, and am currently serving in the same capacity. I feel privileged to enjoy long-lasting relationships with clients who trust and value my opinion.
I volunteer in our community through the City of Farmington Hills Beautification Commission and the board of the Optimist’s Club; I deliver Meals-on-Wheels once per week.
I also live on the property immediately west of where I grew up. My wife and I have restored a historic home (1845) and barn (1880s), which we moved to the land in 1983 and 2007 respectively. We have one daughter who is married and lives and works in Alexandria, VA.
